Red bull has announced their 2015 LAN Event, Red Bull Battle Grounds, which will run throughout April and into May. The event consists of three phases: an online phase, featuring twenty teams from around the world; a follow up LAN phase, where qualifying teams will fight for a spot in the grand finals; and a best of five final, set to take place at the Warfield theatre in San Francisco, California on May 10th.

Teams from every major region are represented in the qualifier stage, with the likes of eu Team Secret, cn Invictus Gaming and ru Team Empire all invited to participate in the tournament.

Red Bull has said that even spectators will have a chance to get in on the action this May, with the organization set to pioneer a new tournament format that will include an all-stars style round robin.

“The Red Bull LAN will feature 100 total strangers competing in one of the most team-centric games in eSports entertainment -- Dota 2. Groups will be composed of Dota 2 pros, aspiring amateurs, famous eSports personas, and more… Spectators will be able to join a waitlist on site (first-come, first-served) that will be used to fill participant slots throughout the day should a participant be unable to compete.”

Ticket purchases to both the May 9th play-offs and the May 10th grand final are already open; however the online DOTATV ticket is still unavailable.
