With summer just around the corner, there is good news for Dota 2 fans everywhere as DreamHack announces their Dota 2 tournament for this year's edition of DreamHack Summer.

The tournament will be held in the eSports hall in Jönköping, Sweden, between the 15th and the 17th of June 2013. Sponsored by gaming gear brand ASUS Republic of Gamers and Plantronics this year's tournament will have a 300,000 SEK prize pool (aprox. 35,000 euros) up for grabs, the biggest ever in DreamHack's Dota history.

There will be 16 teams fighting for the prize in the main tournament and the first invites have already been sent out. The first one went to the winners of DreamHack Winter 2012, se Alliance. Because they won the DreamHack Dota 2 Invitational as well, the next invite went to the runner-up of that tournament, us Team Dignitas. The third slot will be allocated soon to the winner of Techlabs Cup played in Minsk on the 18th of May. To fill the remaining slots, seven more teams will be invited, four will get through from online qualifiers and the last two will go to Bring Your Own Computer winners.

The teams will be split into four groups and Best-Of-Ones will be played to decide the top two teams which advance to the play-offs. The play-offs will be Best-Of-Three, single elimination, so teams have only one shot to prove worthy of the glory and the generous prize pool awaiting.
