posted by Sun_Tzu,
After todays two Phase 2 matches, we now have the completed lineup for the third phase of the G-1 Champions League Asian qualifier.

The final two matches saw world LGD.Int take on and demolish cn ViCi Gaming 2-0, while sg Zenith toyed with th Neolution.TH, also ending the series 2-0. Notably, in the second game against Zenith, Neo.TH went for the eu Fnatic.EU favourite Chaos Knight + Wisp dual mid combo, but the execution was just not there, and Zenith simply outfarmed their opponents while having the stronger late game lineup.

Both of these teams are starting to look really strong, especially Zenith who seem to be transitioning their strong scrim results against the likes of cn Invictus Gaming and my Orange NeoES into results in official games.

Format for Phase 3

The format is being changed up for the next stage of the Asian qualifier, as the remaining eight teams were drawn earlier today into two groups, which will be played as best-of-three round-robin style over the following two weeks.

From each group, the team which finishes in first place will proceed staight into the LAN finals. The second and third placing teams from the groups will proceed into a mini playoffs, where first the second placed teams will play each other, of which the winner secures the third slot for the LAN finals. Following this, the third placed teams play each other, and the winner of the third placed teams then meets up with the loser of the second placed teams, in order to decide which team will claim the fourth and final of the Asian slots at the LAN finals.
