G-League Begins tomorrow!

posted by Sun_Tzu, 1 year ago
Now that we've gotten to better know the team involved, it's about time for the games to begin, and sure enough, the inagural game will be played on Chirstmas Day, 25th of Decemeber, at 13:00 CET, between cn DK and cn For.Love.

While at first things looked gloomy in terms of coverage, by now everything has been turned around, and not only will our very own au Toby 'TobiWan' Dawson be providing coverage for the games after he arrives back home in Berlin on the second day of play, but the games have also been made available in the Dota 2 client via a ticket which is priced at $8,99! Coverage in English will also be provided by us David 'LD' Gorman and au David 'GoDZ' Parker for BeyondTheSummit.

In addition, for those fans of Fantasy Dota 2 out there, the awesome guys over at Dota Academy are hosting up yet another installment of their league for the G-League Season 2. As ever, you can create your own leagues amongst friends, and I for one intend to reprise my DreamHack Winter victory of the joinDOTA staffers fantasy league!

And if you want to brush up on your general historical knowledge of G-League, TeamLiquid has you covered with a translation of a SGamer article on the subject.

As a reminder, all games will be played on LAN at the Mercedez Benz's Cultural Center in Shanghai, China.

Prize Pool

1st - $32,000
2nd - $8,000
3rd-4th - $1,600

One more overpriced dotatv tournament: 7€ for a 5/8 teams event (implying lots of trash matches) = no thanks. And don't tell me there are streams or vods, streams will be during christmas times, and vods will be spoiled by news editors douchebags.

If this lineup and the fact that it's even a lan tournament doesn't worth 7€ then I've got some bad news for you(not like anyone's forcing you to buy it). Also instead of crying bookmark the vods page.

$8,99 really expensive. if convert to Malaysia Ringgit its already RM30
and me as student really cant efford that. $8,99 is enough i think.
i really want to support the dota2 community. but with this price.
i juz can watch from the stream only. :(

Hyhy is *not* standing in for MUFC. To the best of our knowledge, the stand-in will be xFreedom.

welcome to a news site! Where you report what has happened!

Oh, and seeing IG, DK, both LGD's, MUFC and Tongfu in a tournament is well worth the money
