SMM Day 2: Top Four Pinoys

posted by Jaywalker, 1 year ago

Day 2 of SMM 2012 has concluded, and after a day of intense knockout matches all four Pinoy teams survived and will occupy the top four places in the tournament.

The day went extremely well for all four Pinoy teams, as many top teams found themselves mercilessly decimated by the quick and aggressive playstyle that the Pinoy teams executes to perfection.

It was a tough day for Thailand as both th MiTH.Trust and th iDeal-Gigabyte were quickly eliminated despite their best efforts.

In the winner's bracket final, ph Pacific.Emaxx showcased the strengths of Skywrath Mage against fellow countrymen ph Mineski. The hero's long range stun along with his powerful nukes proved too much for Mineski to handle. With their win, Pacific.Emaxx secures themselves a spot in the grand final. Mineski's hopes for the championship remains alive and they will continue their battle in the loser's bracket.

In another match, my Invasion put up a valiant effort against ph iZone-Gigabyte through aggressive early play. Their plan seemed to work well for the Malaysians initially, but iZone bounced back strongly with impressive plays from Visage and Queen of Pain. With a few careless mistakes, Invasion were unable to recover and became yet another casualty of a Pinoy assault.

Malaysia's last hope, my MUFC eSports suffered a similar fate as they found themselves overwhelmed by ph Dreamz.Ledion.

Dreamz will play iZone tomorrow, with the winner going up against Mineski in the best of three loser's bracket final. Pacific.Emaxx awaits in the best of three grand final.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow for the last day of SMM 2012, although it's safe to say that we could have a Pinoy team winning. Bus yan!

eventhough they are always one step behind i sincerely congratulate them i don't know why others always have some nasty things to say when they aren't even popular and just remained as a typer with no skillz to play in a pro environment

As a orange/mufc fanboy, I'm just curious why don't pinoys start playing/training Dota2? I'm pretty sure they will get the hang of it and even dominate the scene.

Not enough beta keys, More dota 1 tournaments in the Philippines still, LAN support, More people play in LAN cafe's and most LAN cafe's can't handle Dota 2. But it is getting bigger still. Think of it like the Chinese on why alot more people still play Dota 1

Lag issue :)
If only Ph can have a server, then why not?
There's a bit delay in Ph Dota 2

And there's nothing to be hurry. Dota 2 is still in beta :)

well if someone tells that this tournament has no competition, think again..

Orange - beating Navi and EHOME twice in The International 2 (http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/The_International_2012_)
- has legendary Mushi that a lot of great players like Dendi have repect with.

MUFC - beating LGD in the last months gest.

These teams are no joke. Pinoys should be given a little respect for owning SMM and should not be treated as trash by others. Yet now, they need to switch to dota 2 and prove their worth.

worst ever SMM .. even worst then last year (yea i know those PC issues but still) but this time its worst because it had no quality , only pinoys are focusing DotA now its not even a match when teams like MUFC and orange playing dotA 5 days before SMM only and not surprising iG not giving a fuck about it , they dont even need to..

lol, the line up they use in smm is totally different than their dota2 line up, dont even know whos playing for orange tbh.. only saw Xtinct n mushi the others looked like randoms with orange tag

duskbin was huge in dota2 if they didnt split right before ti2 qualifiers, it was a shit move, real shame there is no chance they getting back together n play as a team after some of the duskbin players dogged the team n joined mski and as a result both teams failed miserably

Dominate the scene? Pinoys? HAHAHHAHAHHAHA. Seriously though Pinoys are winning here just because nobody else gives a crap about dota1, they are and always will be behind

Well. Both Orange & MUFC are not using the team original lineup to compete in this SMM. Like Orange, Mushi+Xtinct+3HoN player. Eventually, Orange only did their last minute bootcamp.
Well, there nothing to be over-reacted. It's just a game people. :)

Pinoys dominating who? Dominating Dota 1? OR DOMINATING EACH OTHER?
