The second and final day of competition in the joinDOTA Masters Special Edition has just ended, and after some fierce battles, it was ua Natus Vincere - who were participating in the Masters series for the first ever time - who emerged victorious. Read on for the game recaps.

Semi-final 1
ua Darer vs. ua Natus Vincere

Darer opted for an early-game, aggressive, ganking-orientated strategy with plenty of burst spell damage, whereas Na'Vi had late-game insurance in their Lone Druid pick. However, Darer's aggression backfired heavily, as Na'Vi repeatedly repelled their attacks, pusher their towers and killed their heroes en masse. Na'Vi's Venomancer notably secured himself a Godlike spree within 12 minutes as the team rushed into a huge gold, experience, tower and kill advantage, which Darer were ultimately unable to recover from.

Semi-final 2
us compLexity Gaming vs. us Evil Geniuses

This all-American affair saw the champions of the second edition of The Defense throw a curveball in the draft with the rarely seen Razor. The early part of the game was cautious and closely contested, with neither team making huge gains over the other. However, EG edged into the ascendancy after taking Roshan and his treasure three times in a row, and they used the global presence of their Nature's Prophet and Wisp - plus whoever he wanted to take with him - to great effect. coL endured, but eventually the pressure of EG's split-pushing proved to be too much, and coL conceded defeat just after the first barracks were destroyed in the 44th minute.

Grand Final
ua Natus Vincere vs. us Evil Geniuses

Game 1

The hugely experienced oldschool legends of the East and West collided in this heavyweight final, and as might have been expected, the opening game of the best-of-three match got off to a very even start. Despite EG slaying Roshan first, Na'Vi remained on a equal footing to their opponents and slowly edged into the lead with several ganks and split-push attempts. When Na'Vi made the first breakthrough, they made it count; the insane pushing power of Lycanthrope, Lone Druid and Leshrac destroying EG's bottom barracks in the 22nd minute with ease. EG called "GG" only a few minutes later.

Game 2

The second game saw both teams employ counter-picks for the laning phase: EG's Sand King to counter the opponent Broodmother; Na'Vi's lich to deny the enemy Morphling farm; Nature's Prophet and Lone Druid toying with each other by using their summons to pull and stack the other's creep wave. The early and mid game proved to be closely contested once again, but much like the first game, Na'Vi gradually edged themselves ahead, despite giving up more kills than they were taking. The Ukranians stuck to their signature style of push and pressure, and once they got into their groove, EG found it difficult to defend against.

Na'Vi took their opponents first set of barracks before the 30th minute, and despite EG continuing to fight valiantly and proving to be more than a match in terms of killing power, the Americans could not stop their opponents from pushing, with Lone Druid destroying the rest of their base in the next few minutes. EG conceded defeat in the 38th minute, leaving Na'Vi to take the joinDOTA Masters crown and the special edition 1000€ prize.
