In an impressive clash of teams, The Defense - brought to you by Razer and BenQ - finished today with an exhilarating battle between us POTM Bottom and eu mousesports. This match up brought us three simply amazing battles that needed to be seen to believe. However, for those unfortunate enough to not being able to see, here is a summary of today's games!

The very first game was action-packed through and through. Both teams clashed constantly and mouz even seemed to be gaining an advantage, but PB quickly gained a huge tower advantage. It took mouz more than 20 minutes to fell one of PB's towers, which gave them a very difficult position. Despite Morphling's great farm, it was not enough to counter-balance PB's gold advantage. With much territory lost, it allowed for POTM Bottom to defeat Roshan several times. Lone Druid's Bear, famous for its siege capabilities, helped greatly with a backdoor attack on mousesports' base. Despite mouz's impressive attempts, it wasn't enough to deter the North American powerhouse.

Game 2

The second game had a rather uncommon lane distribution by mouz with Broodmother soloing the middle lane and Anti-Mage soloing top lane. However it proved to be a rather uncomfortable situation for mouz, who lost many a skirmish during the early phase. As time went by, however, Anti-Mage started to outfarm Morphling. By the 11th minute, a feeling of turnabout started to linger in the air. mouz started counter-attacking and Anti-Mage's presence began to grow more and more during team fights. Anti-Mage's capabilities as a gold farmer became startling when he had, by the 30th minute mark, a Battle Fury, a Manta Style and a Heart of the Tarrasque - all items of considerable price. Even POTM Bottom's powerful "Shotgun" combo with their Morphling wasn't enough to deter this force and mouz won this match convincingly.

Much unlike the first and second game, mouz opted for pushing towers during this match. This made a huge difference, despite team fight capabilities being somewhat equal between both teams. We also had the chance to witness a bloodbath of a game, with mouz nose-diving PB's base at the 4th minute mark, right after destroying both tier 1 and 2 towers of the bottom lane. The pushing powerful was incredible, which lead to many overconfident decisions by mouz, who overextended several times. The 9th minute laid the terms for the rest of the match - a true and unstoppable battleground with fights everywhere, every time. However, PB started losing territory very quickly - by the 12th minute mark, of all the external towers, only their mid lane tier 2 tower stood high. And even then, not for long. Despite PB's turtling capabilities, mouz just kept repeatedly bashing at the base's entrances, like a furious torrent of water trying to break a brick wall and slowly chipping its structure away. With this massively aggressive game play and a lot of territory lost for PB, the recently mighty POTM Bottom was soundly beaten by mousesports, who will proceed to the next stage of The Defense!

The next match-up is eu mousesports VS. us Evil Geniuses. Will they perform just as well against another North-American team? Check it out tomorrow, the 10th of August at 17:00 CEST!
