ProDOTA2's winners are set!

Today the ProDOTA2 World League has ended in a majestic note. After yesterday's unfortunate events, the games for the loser bracket semi finals and finals as well as the -adjective- Grand Final were filled with action and amazing plays. In case you missed the show or are looking to reminisce the events of the day in written form, check below for the overview of the last day of the tournament together with a summary of the Grand Finals.

Loser Bracket's Semi-Finals

The lower brackets' last two matches were as much surprising as exciting. se Infused fought against eu Mousesports and the latter showed great synergy and accuracy. The game was mostly tied to a good amount of time, but Mouz's advantage snowballed out of control. In a very convincing fashion, they took the win and advanced for the finals of the Loser Brackets.

However, in the following match against se Counter Logic Gaming, the situation inverted and Mouz took a severe beating from the Swedish team. As mentioned in other posts, CLG has been fighting prodigiously and this match was no exception. The line-up combo planned by Mouz was disabled by CLG during the pick-up phase and Mouz's visibility of the map in general was weak, much in contrast to the first game. This allowed for excellent positioning of CLG, who quickly won the game.

The first game started in a passive note, as if both teams were exchanging blows in order to measure the opponent's skill, but that quickly changed as Bounty Hunter started to roam in search of ganks. POTM moved fluently and always found farm wherever they went, either by stacking creeps or ganking the lane in order to have farm, efficiently shutting off CLG's revenue. Getting ganked left and right in little skirmishes as well as Bounty Hunter's ultimate giving POTM Bottom a significant gold advantage left CLG without much options. Ten seconds before the 16th minute, the team called GG and went for the next match.

Fortunately game #2 took more time to finish as CLG entered the game with extra caution. Kills were few and far in-between, but something was always happening everywhere in the map. CLG gained a small advantage with a promising start and kept playing carefully, advancing whenever they could and pulling back when needed. However, as POTM's Morphling grew in power and got the Ethereal Blade, the game turned around in favor of POTM bottom. Using the fabled "shotgun" to quickly dispose of CLG's supports and the Enigma not being able to deploy effective Black Holes doomed the Swedish team into a slow spiral of lost control. Despite lasting longer than before, CLG lost again, going to the third and possibly decisive match.

Third game began with an unusual line up for POTM Bottom, who picked the glass cannon Luna as well as Jakiro. Always a welcome sight to see less used heroes joining games. The match quickly transformed into two farming lanes - Top lane for Morphling and bottom lane for Luna - while the middle lane burned with the flames of battle caused by the remaining heroes. Shadow Shaman was extremely aggressive towards Tinker. As time passed, Morphling seemed to gain an advantage over Luna, especially after an amazing team fight during the 20th minute mark, but Luna was farming from overly stacked neutral creep camps, negating most of the gold difference. The match continued with both teams never getting a clear advantage over the opponent. Both team's towers started to whittle down and despite a barracks disadvantage, POTM Bottom kept a strong presence and the game entered into an apparent stalemate.
At the 63th minute mark, the stalemate seemed to end as Morphling obliterated Luna during a team fight, but thanks to buybacks and good positioning, the advancing CLG army was halted. POTM used this to advance through the top lane and after disposing the support heroes of CLG, it was easy to kill Morphling. However, a buyback from Morphling prevents POTM from taking barracks and the North Americans lose their main carry on the process, which allowed the Swedish team to take another pair of barracks. POTM tries to retaliate, but without success and in an exhausting spiral downwards, after nearly 75 minutes of game, CLG claims the victory. However, how will exhaustion play a role on the following matches?

After the epic and lengthy match, both teams showed signs of tiredness, as movements and game play became rather sluggish. Even though PB lost their towers from the bottom lane, the retaliation came quickly and CLG lost their top lane towers. Quickly this turned into a tower advantage for POTM Bottom as other towers fell and with the help of a Roshan kill during the 14th minute, POTM takes the advantage, advancing their forces with brute force and taking CLG's middle lane barracks on the 20th minute mark. The Morphling quickly won the carry battle and after a fast Roshan for ensuring their push, POTM Bottom catches Anti Mage off guard and pushes for the victory, winning the competition and taking the big prize of $10.000!

FINAL RESULTS:
1st place: us POTM Bottom - $10.000
2nd place: se Counter Logic Gaming - $6000
3rd place: eu Mousesports - $4000

(Many thanks go to Bernhardt "Dezix" Roland who made some missing hero icons at the last minute)

You sound salty, but don't forget that if Zenith hadn't forfeited right before you THEY would have been your opponents rather than mouz ;)

How was it an unfair forfeit? The IG-Orange game was scheduled to start an hour after your game and by the time they started to cast it you still hadn't showed up. The schedule for saturday was pretty hectic with multiple bo1s to be played, choosing not to DQ you would have been even more unfair.
