Star Ladder: Na'Vi march on

posted by Blue_Knight, 315 days ago
Day two of the Star Ladder Star Series second season's LAN finals has just come to a close, and as is a familiar story, it was the juggernauts ua Na'Vi who marched on into the Grand Final.

It was the Ukranians who were up first in today's action against eu mousesports, who nearly gave the first finalists a slight scare by taking a game off them, in what ultimately proved to be a 1:2 defeat for them in the best-of-three tie.

The day's other upper bracket semi final match between ua Darer and Moscow Five was also a close affair, but it was the Russians who edged it in the end 2:1 to proceed to the upper bracket final.

That last match for the evening proved to be a fairly straightforward affair for Na'Vi, who won two games in the row to take the tie; notably crushing M5 in only 22 minutes in the second game to proceed into the overall Grand Final.

The battles resumes tomorrow with the lower bracket tie between Darer and mousesports, from which one of them will advance to face M5 for the right to be Na'Vi's opponents in the Star Series Grand Final on Sunday.

You can catch all of the action right here on joinDOTA tomorrow, with your commentator au Toby 'TobiWan' Dawson. Tune in then!

These last games with Na'Vi have been really boring to watch, way too one sided.

I think that Na'Vi will have a much harder time at TI2, after the Asian teams start hardcore practicing.

From what I see in the past few weeks since Dreamhack, only mouz and mTw can really challenge Na`Vi.

Na'Vi are head and shoulders above mouz and mTw. Na'Vi do sometimes lose to them if Na'Vi are overconfident or play sloppy, which, lately, they have been doing more than is usual for them (usual being never), but when they are on form they are utterly untouchable. It's not clear that there is even any EU/NA team that can even TEST the Na'Vi squad firing on all cylinders, let alone beat them. Zenith & the Chinese teams are legitimate challengers, though--if anyone is going to dethrone Na'Vi at TI2 it will be one of them.

+1
despite navi no team from europe/na will have a real shot at the title, i guess it will be a navi - chinese final again with the chance of zenith beating the chinese to it

so far there is a lot of expectation on zenith. personally I will root for them, but I just hope that they don't get overconfident and blow it all to the likes of mTw ;)
