Moscow Five has decided to leave GosuLeague after disagreements over the ruling of a forfeit loss due to the team's failure to show up on time for their match against
NEXT.kz.

Tournament officials decided to impose a game one forfeit loss for M5 after the Russians had failed to show up on time and failure to provide an explanation.
The controversy arose when M5 were unhappy with the ruling and decided to walk away from the $5,000 competition. Head administrator
Patrik 'Raistlin' Hellstrand has released a statement explaining the situation:In tonight's GosuLeague, Russian side Moscow 5 was given a forfeit loss in the first game against NEXT.kz after not showing up on time and not giving an explanation why.
After having been given the loss, the team refused to play the second game should the forfeit for game one not get revoked. Disagreeing with the ruling, the Moscow 5 manager announced that they will be leaving GosuLeague.
GosuGamers' ambition was to keep Moscow 5 remain in the league, but the team has made their decision to forfeit all matches in GosuLeague.
The GosuLeague rules state that teams are given a default loss if they appear over 15 minutes late without a reasonable explanation. We strive to be as reasonable and flexible as possible in all our doings, and we expect teams to be the same. While we are aware that complications may arise for teams, we feel the need to enforce our rules when met with unprofessional behavior.
By leaving the GosuLeague Division 1, all of Moscow 5's matches will be counted as 0-2 losses in Division 1.

Moscow Five in return responded with their statement on their site:
Today M5.BenQ team withdrew from the third season of Gosu League. The reason for this is a conflict with the administration of the tournament.
We got a technical loss in today's match against NEXT.kz because one of our players was a bit late. Given that our team has repeatedly been waiting for different opponents for 20-30 minutes and even more in many online tournaments (including previous season of Gosu league), we asked the administration to revoke penalties and start the match with 0:0 score. Players of Next.kz agreed with it.
However, the administration stood on their decision. We think that it was disrespectful and we had no choice but to stop participation in the tournament.
We thank Next.kz team for good attitude in such situation and apologize to the audience that was waiting our battle. Also we wish good luck to the remaining teams of Gosu league. We hope that fans won’t blame us for this decision and support us at upcoming Starladder finals.

Yea, Next.kz players are like most mannered people ever. M5 is too, and it's really sad to see this happening :/. These 2 teams are example of sportmanship and they proved it in last few months.
Organisation should have revoked it, but bah... GG.net organisation is good as my manners are..

"a bit late"
people with jobs get fired if they're "a bit late".
especially if they start complaining about the rules everyone has to follow.
I don't know if it's true that they had to wait for other teams 20-30 minutes beforehead.
but if you aren't even able to bring an excuse, I think you deserve to be kicked out.

M5 were correctly penalized. What happened in other online tournaments does not matter in this tournament. They could have accepted their mistake and continue playing.

"Last night's game Darer vs Keita was delayed due to the fact that Darer was playing against HelloMoto (20 CET). Unfortunately their game took a bit longer and couldn't be finished before the 22 CET, therefore we had a slightly delay in the next match."
There is difference between prolonged game and being arrogant with poor excuse.

true. And M5 waited once for 20+ minutes in Gosu league season 1 and noone was penalized.
Both teams agreed that penalty should be revoked.
It's just GGnet trying to be serious organisation. ''Trying'' to be. So bad, these things affect DotA2 badly :F, i hope GGnet stops making tournaments..

Bullshit, admins fail. Other teams were late as well, and if Next.kz agrees to it, why should they prevent it? Well, digging their own grave..

They were playing another game. I would say that's a "reasonable explanation" ;)

"A bit late"? THIRTY FUCKING MINUTES after the draft was supposed to begin, PGG was still the only M5 player online, while NEXT.kz had had their entire lineup sitting in the lobby since the correct time. Admins def made the right call. M5 had no prior game to this that was holding them up, it was straight up them just being late, while the "other teams" the M5 statement is referring to almost definitely were late only because of prior matches.

It's the "failure to provide an explanation" that puts my vote in GL's favor. Showing up late without telling that beforehand is just rude and unproffessional.

At last a league that penalizes being late without a good reason. More please. I mean how hard is to write a message to admin that you might be late. Seriously more tournaments have to have this rule and use it.

M5 was late only 20 min and admins could ask teams just start the draw phase because PGG was in lobby all the time.

I did read it, seems like you don#t understand = New season new rules. Do you think rules of The International 2 will be exactly the same as TI1?....

That is correct. Pretty low of gosugamers to throw a smokescreen and try and spin this otherwise.
