The International 2 Chinese casters
posted by Tezzeret, 316 days ago
SGamer have published a few articles over the last 24 hours that lists out the Chinese caster for the upcoming Dota 2 The International with IceFrog confirming on his QQ Weibo account of its authenticity.
This time around, Valve pulled out all the stop to ensure top level casting for their event, employing six Chinese casters for the whole event with an additional seventh invite going to LGD's Anderson as a translator for the event.
The Chinese casting team for the event is as follows:
820
HaiTao
2009
DC
Miss
Snowkiss
Anderson (Translator)It is currently unknown whether it will be a rotating series of casters or there will be multiple streams with different casters going out simultaneously. Take note however that while these are the invited casters for the event, their participation is still up in the air as they have not secured their visa yet.

I have already invited, 820, HaiTao, 2009, DC, Miss and Snowkiss as this year's The International casters.

Wow IceFrog! Amazing job at getting probably the best Chinese casters in the business to go to TI2 to cast. Really, really nice. Not to mention some legends of DotA in there, like 820 and 2009, which will definitely make way for Dota 2 in the Chinese Market.

Amazing news. This is a big step in promoting Dota 2 in the Chinese market & hopefully encouraging them to start adopting it in larger numbers! Very savvy play here from Valve/Icefrog.

FYI, TI1 was cast in English (2 casters), Chinese (3 casters), Russian (1 caster), German (2 casters).
And even there is only 1 Chinese team participating, Chinese casting will still be there since more than half of the Dota community is Chinese.

I think that people will be able to listen to them inside of DotaTV, and on a live stream, like what is happening with Tobi and The Defense.

china couldnt care less about dota 2 and still valve and apparently even icefrog are treating them like kings...Its understandable since china is the biggest market and not every company gets to sell their product there, but it kinda bugs me
Why chinese cant be like any others slant-eyed people and play starcraft and leave dota alone?

Translation into English is gonna be awesome! Will there be subtitles typed out live or something? If not, perhaps VODs with English subtitles at a later time?
I'm really interested in the insight of these former DotA pros

ofc they will prioritize China, they threat DotA like a real sport there. The whole reason Valve went for Dota2 is because they want to get Seam in this part of the world. And DotA, with 45,000,000 active players in China could get their product(steam) to a whole new level..
They "don't care about Dota2" because Valve doesn't give them a chance to(like Blizzard/gomtv with Korea).. Do you know they can't play in their own server? Do you know what chinese i-net is and how hard it is for them to play in SEA?! When Lan mod is added we can be sure, they will crush the servers..
And last, they are fucking good. They beat teams like Zenith,aL and Oragne, who are conciderd top10 teams with ease..

hahahah, that must be the stupidest thing I have ever read, lol If someone doesnt like something he should be able to express himself and not stay silent until something good happen so he could speak.
you should make a rule inside your head "If i can tell only stupid thing, I should rather shut up" and obey it
