mousesports International Reserve
posted by Blue_Knight, 322 days ago
Thanks to some curious messages on social networks, rumours have been circulating tonight as to whether or not
Mousesports will be attending The International this summer, and if so, in what capacity.
Suspicions were first raised when mouz player
Alexandru 'ComeWithMe' Craciunescu posted this exclamation to his followers on Twitter. He then shared another message to clarify, which claimed that his team will be in Seattle this summer as a 'back-up team'.In order to clear up the matter, joinDOTA reached out to mouz team manager
Florian 'PaisY' Schmedes, who had this to say:Speaking for me and my team, we are very happy to be considered as a backup team for The International. Despite the defeat in the TI2 Qualifiers, we did not bury our heads in the sand. We kept on to work hard and did not lose our dedication to improve as a team. Everyone within the team knows that our current roster has a huge talent and potential and even though we have been working together for not that of a long time, we have shown great performances ever since. A big thanks goes out to all our fans!"
joinDOTA also approached Valve for confirmation which brought forth a short but clarifying answer:
Yes, Mouz is a backup team.

Mouz was actually 3rd -- and only valve know why they made the choice -- this statement was all we received from them

yeah would like to know as well, next.kz should be ahead of mouse as back up. inviting 3d place before 2nd would be kinda strange.

The problem is it is not easy to get a visa for the USA especially for countries that aren't in the EU. There is just not enough time probably.

Unless there's some visa problems then the invite really should go to Next.kz. They've shown off that they can play really good and has the potential to go way further than mousesports.

2 months? Is the team going to make visas right now without knowing for sure if they're going to attend or not? What if the replacement would be needed within 2 weeks? Please think.

Maybe they got visa problems like a lot of former soviet union states have.
Or they simply dont have time, who knows.

To the people who are mad or confused as to why Next.KZ isn't a backup:
First of all, Mouz may not be the only backup team, because Valve said "Mouz is a backup team", not "Mouz is the backup team". Secondly, the qualifiers were just to pick the wild card teams, not to pick back up teams. Thirdly, you guys are forgetting that there are two teams that got second place in the qualifiers, World Elite and Next.KZ, so if Valve only has 1 backup team it isn't fair to choose Next.KZ over World Elite.
