FnaticRC down to four
posted by Blue_Knight, 329 days ago
Jascha 'NoVa' Markuse, part of the
FnaticRC team that transitioned to competitive Dota 2 from the competitive Heroes of Newerth circuit, unexpectedly and abruptly takes his leave from the European mix. From left to right: H4nn1, Era, Fly, NoVa, N0tail
Despite a rocky start to the team's Dota 2 career, there have been signs of growth and promise, which makes NoVa's sudden departure all the more surprising. However, in this excerpt from his farewell blog post, NoVa outlines his reasons for leaving:
Over the past few months I had less and less time to devote to progaming due to other things that needed my attention, effort and time. I stopped streaming, coaching to an extent and had very little fan contact in general. Yet everyone else in Fnatic managed to train more than twice the amount of games I did.
This obviously hurt the team performance atleast within Dota2. And even though most 'other things' have been resolved and completed by now, it would be somewhat delusional to force my team to wait for me until I have caught up.
Combined with the fact that I still played a couple HoN games here and there it was time to go for a new chapter in my professional gaming career.

NoVa's withdrawal from the FnaticRC team leaves them with only four players for now. Nevertheless, they have stated that they will possibly compete in upcoming matches with stand-ins.

When I read his blog, I got the impression that he use this exit from Fnatic as an excuse to go back to HoN.

I don't think they want to go through all the hussle of swapping roles:P him and Era are both almost exclusively carry players ( from what I've seen at least. )

This is really sad, I hope they get a good replacement and they practice more often. I want to see them on par with high-tier teams. Good luck on Nova_ anyways, good guy.

Tri-carry meta? Tri-carry meta.

When IXL joined up with Fnatic, Trixi was actually playing support regularly. I'm not saying he should join Fnatic and support now, but Trixi, Fly and H4nn1 have played support competitively in the past. Pretty sure these guys could fill any role, it's just the issue with finding the person who'd willingly and not begrudgingly play 'hard support'.

Trixi plays every role, and has been playing mostly offlane since he left Mouz. More than likely however would be that h4nn1 might support and trixi offlane.
And sorry to see Nova go, he's an exceptional player and would in time have had each and every one of his haters eating their words. Don't believe me? Ask Akke from CLG, back in HoN he stated he was honored to be compared to Nova.

If he's such an exceptional player how come his performance in dota2 was so bad?BIRTYDASTARD schrieb:

How come the chinese teams that weren't playing dota 2 at all were playing a lot better than fnatic?
Maybe it's time to realise that being good at hon doesn't necessarily make you good at dota 2 just like being good at sc2 doesn't necessarily make you good at wc3.
Or maybe you could take a look at that catz guy, quite good at sc2 from what i understand but his dota 2 performance is worse than mine and that says a lot.

Good thing that he left, there was no dedication at all for dota 2.... it might be a hard decision who to pick up but i guess that it'll be work out fine for them.

I have a friend who is good at Sims 3, and he's better than me at Dota. Hmm, I see the connection.

Sad to see the original team loses a member. Good thing to see they won't stop here.
And saying that hon and DotA2 are as different as sc2 and wc3 is totally wrong. It's a lot closer, and if you're good in one, you CAN be good in the other ... With hard work to adapt.

Don't see what your point is since what you just wrote is true for any game.Sad to see the original team loses a member. Good thing to see they won't stop here.

But being good at one game doesn't mean that you will be good at the other which these fnatic guys have already proven.
I guess these hon fanboys will pull the "but OMG Akke was also playing hon", yes that is true but what did Akke play before he started playing hon?
