Two teams replaced in The Defense

posted by HolyMaster, 330 days ago
The second season of The Defense is five days old, and sadly, we already have to announce the removal of two participants. We say goodbye to ru Virtus Pro and se Keita Gaming and welcome de uebelst-gamying as well as by Power Rangers to the competition instead.

VP has decided to temporarily disband and thus not participate in The Defense. uebelst was able to jump in at such short notice and even play its first match against se 4 Friends right away - with a successful outcome.

Keita however already played eu Hello Moto yesterday and lost. After this match they informed joinDOTA about huge lineup issues and possible upcoming changes inside the team. These problems made it impossible for Keita to comply with the rules of The Defense to an acceptable amount. Today, the administration finally made the decision to replace them with a more stable team. HM doesn't lose it's first victory though; PR will go into the tournament with a 0:1 record.

Good sports on PR's part to accept to the 0:1.

Glad to see thing being done to keep active, willing teams participating in the defense.

I want to see power rangers win the whole thing now. It would be quite the comeback story.

Good call with removing Shadygaming. Shame none of the asian teams wanted to take a shot at the defense though even after 2 spots opened up, or were they simply not even asked?

I think TD is intended to be for europeans and americans (hence default server location US East, see rules)
The ping between EU and China is especially horrible.
Australians playing on US West results in about 300ms ping (correct me if I'm wrong, but should be about rigt).
For asians it's even worse and server location can only be changed if both teams agree.
Besides there is no good solution for EU vs Asia online.

why make PR go 0-1 the tourny is only 5days old...Group 4 is a pretty weak group they really deserve a decent crack at making it through the playoffs.

Yeah... it's only the biggest online event in the scene. Obviously no-one cares about tourneys that don't have atleast 1m prize for the winner.

Yes no one cares about one of the smoothest run tournaments outside of The International...
