WT5: DreamHack, GDM, GosuLeague
posted by Jaywalker, 332 days ago

joinDOTA: Weekly Top 5 is back and this week we have 5 great games from DreamHack, Gigabyte Dota Masters, and GosuLeague. Today will feature
Tobi 'TobiWanKenobi' Dawson,
David 'LD' Gorman,
Kevin 'Purge' Godec, and
David 'GoDz' Parker. Lets get straight to business!

We always prayed that the Grand Final of DreamHack would be a close game. Knowing Na`Vi and their method of domination, we were not expecting our prayers to be answered with such an amazing match. While Game 2 and 3 of the grand final were ones to watch again, this first game showed us the players pushed to the limits and the awesome individual skills of the players.

Some games are destroyed by technical problems. This was one of those games that would have had the potential to become the default in everyone's highlight clips. This selection is an incomplete game but one which I highly recommend to watch because of the team fights, and the player skills that peaked at DreamHack.
EG vs aL

Na`Vi vs Darer got all the hype, but ultimately it was EG and aL who were busy putting together the more epic match in Game 1 of their DreamHack quarterfinals showdown. A grueling, knock-down, drag-out barroom brawl of a game that had a bit of everything: buybacks galore, epic wombo combos, some truly breathtaking escapes, and some agonizing slip-ups by both teams.
Zenith vs Invictus Gaming

Even with their life on the line in GDM having dropped to the Loser Brackets, Zenith decide to pull out something out of the ordinary here. They look to overwhelm iG with early aggression and towers, but it's actually iG who strike first in the early game getting off to an early lead with their Anti-Mage carry pick. A great clash when the aggression of Zenith meats the conservative play of iG. Oh, forgot to mention! For the fanboys out there - out of the ordinary translates to a Loda Pudge!
Infused vs mTw

In this match from the GosuLeague, Infused was already up 1-0 versus mTw and drafted a surprising Spectre pick, which left mTw to draft a Faceless Void to complement their other great teamfight heroes. This very long game was an absolute delight to cast.

Dendi play on Tinker was just amazing. He can handle all the three skills + hex + eul + blink dagger in just a couple of seconds, and then immideatly repeat it. Truly great.
Morphling rampage was also fun as well as Zenith vs iG, this game just shows, how you can handle with those turtling chinese teams. Just be active, force the fights, ambush them all the time, keep the pressure. Nice pudge dismember + sun strike combo.
Didn't like EG vs AL though, it seemed a bit one-sided in favour of EG for me. And maaan, it took ages for both teams to get that rosh, as eg were afraid of void, while al were afraid of enigma. Super boring.
