DH Quarters: mouz and mTw to semis!
posted by nincompoop, 339 days ago

Deviating from their original plans, Dreamhack Dota 2 admins have decided to leave the quarter final matchups decided by a cointoss avoiding the situation that teams lose on purpose in order to face another team in the playoffs.
We contacted Dreamhack's Dota 2 Headadmin
Tjernobylbarnet for a statement regarding this decision:
Since groups C and D had the top seeds they were put against groups A and B. First of one group faces the second of another group. We then did a coin toss to decide if group A would face group C or D. Group B would obviously be paired with the remaining one. Teams were present to witness the coin toss.
According to the new schedule the following two quarter finals are being played today - in a best of three format - simultaneously at 21:00 CET
mouz vs CLG
**Broadcasted live by Toby from the Dreamhack mainstage**
and
mTw vs Quantic
-----------------------------------------
Update#1:
21:20 - All teams finally joined the lobby and the games can start. Since this is single elimination we will have to say goodbye to two more teams in roughly three hours.
Update#2:
21:38 - None of the four teams are going for any extreme or never seen strategy. Keeping it safe seems to be more important at this point.
Update#3:
21:55 - Mousesports hit it off really badly but seem to come back from a rough early game. In the end it will be the battle of the farmed Void for CLG against mouz's farmed Antimage.
At the same time the game between Quantic and mTw is building up slowly, as both teams seem rather passive and don't want to engage prematurely.
Update#4:
22:07 - Pajkatt on the Void for CLG misses all targets with his chronosphere and also wasting his BKB at their base entry mouz grab the opportunity and end the game. mouz 1:0 CLG !
Update#5:
22:25 - The second game of mouz vs CLG is starting when Quantic and mTw are still well under way exchanging careful blows with commiting too much.
Update#6:
22:40 - mTw manage to win a long must see game against Quantic, both teams showing great performance. Meanwhile in the other quarterfinal mouz pick up their signature hero Clinkz to seal the deal in game#2 against CLG.
Update#7:
23:22 - No one expected it but mouz beat CLG 2:0 in the first quarter final. After another grim start, mouz focus their efforts and kick out CLG in just two games. They will face the winner of mTw vs Quantic tomorrow in one of the semifinals.
Update#8:
23:45 - mTw shows a strong performance against Quantic not fearing
Korok's trademark morphling, winning two straight games against this young talented carry player. This means we will see mouz vs mTw in the first semifinal tomorrow. This is it for today. We will resume coverage of Dreamhack Summer 2012 tomorrow morning where the matches kick off at 09:00 CET!

Mouz are weak against Navi too. But who is not?
Will be interesting too see Navi in the International against the asian teams, because there are no teams in EU/USA that can win against Navi, when Navi they play at there normal skill level.

Mouz are 3-0 vs. NaVi since CWM joined. For what it's worth.

What i want to see is a Mtw vs Mouz with mouz win, NaVi vs Al with AL win and a final of mouz vs AL with mouz win.
I'm not a crazy fanboy of mouz or any other team but just a dota 2 player and a community constant reader.... and with that people will realize that NaVi hit the peak of how far they can go... since the other teams all can do is catch up to their skill and teamwork... and I would like mouz to take the win (dreamhack final) to prove that their new roster has a very high limit to where it can go.... and maybe with this take M5 place or other team that might have visa problems to the TI2.
And Mtw and mouz are my favorite teams ... maybe just because synd and sing have the most funny and also serious livestreams. But Mtw won TI 2 qualifer and thats why i really want mouz to win because i think that they deserve an invite ... they really put up some nice quality matches.
Please dont flame on this.... its just my opinion and you can just discuss on it in a mannered and objective way.

interesting that you guys haven't spent time into watching how solid MTW are.. i am really confident that they can take it to the finals and actually beat mouz as they already did once for the quals last week ....
