posted by Helga,
With the scene developing ever so fast joinDOTA is looking for new volunteer staff to help in our Forum and Tournament crews. If you are interested in contributing to the project, find out here how to apply.

Remember that for all the following positions we are willing to teach you most of the things you'll need to know for your position! While some of the possible jobs recommend having some specific abilities, the only essential requirements in general are being fluent in the English language as well having the free time and motivation to contribute to Dota 2 and joinDOTA.

As a Forum Moderator you will be expected to be active on the boards, contributing to discussions while interacting with the community to promote a positive atmosphere amongst users.

If you enjoy being part of the community, we are looking for active members of the forum to step up and take a leadership role responsible for pushing the forum to new heights.

The League and Tournament staff is divided into two parts. One takes care of amateur competitions, first and foremost division 3 and lower of joinDOTA League. This involves being available and helpful for a large amount of teams, when any conflicts or problems arise.

The second half is in charge of the professional side of tournaments, hosting and overseeing of matches being the main share of work here. Both positions require high responsibility, you always have to be neutral and fair. Competitions currently organized by joinDOTA include the ESL One qualifiers, The Defense, MSI Dragon Battle, jD MLG Pro League, and of course the joinDOTA League.

If you're interested, please write an e-mail to apply@joindota.com for the Tournament Crew or woodsy@joindota.com for the Forum Crew before October 14th. These address will stay active after that deadline, and we will respond to further applications from time to time. However, we're planning to accept many candidates within the next two weeks and will hopefully not have the necessity for additional help for a while afterwards.

Your application should include (but not be limited to) the following information:
  • Subject of the email should be: Application for tournament/forum/...
  • Your full name and nickname
  • Your user ID at joinDOTA
  • Age, occupation, nationality/location
  • Your experience within eSport
  • The skills you have and how you can be a valuable member to joinDOTA.
  • Do not add any files to the application.
A big thanks in advance to everyone offering us assistance! We will reply to every serious request.

What you get in returnThe positions above are all voluntary, but you will in return get something from contributing your precious free time to joinDOTA, as it will help you:

  • Build your online profile and social networks
  • Establish contacts with known players, teams and organisations
  • Learn "behind the scenes" knowledge (can't go into more detail, top secret stuff)
  • Get a better understanding of how the scene works
  • Be able to take part in our internal Staff Cups
