CLG invited to The International

posted by Jaywalker, 361 days ago

se Counter Logic Gaming has been invited to participate in The International. Their invitation will mean that there are currently eight invited teams, with another six yet to be invited, in addition to two wildcard entries.

CLG has recently undergone roster changes, with se Jonathan 'Loda' Berg and se Johan 'Smulgullig' Gidmark leaving the team only to be quickly replaced by dk Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Filipsen and hr Dominik 'Lacoste' Stipic.

Meanwhile, Loda has joined sg Zenith, and they too will certainly be hoping for an invite as three of their players were members of the third place finisher's sg Scythe.SG in last year's inaugural competition at Gamescom.

Counter Logic Gaming roster

se Per Anders 'Pajkatt' Olsson Lille
dk Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Filipsen
hr Dominik 'Lacoste' Stipic
se Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall
se Jesper 'Mirakel' Nyhlén

Surprising, considering their recent roster change.

Not exactly what I would label as a "stable roster", but hey.

to compete at the international, your team must have a stable roster!

CLG had the most stable roster if you don't count Na'Vi since 2012, untill Loda and smulgulig left, so yeah.

Hi guys, I have an idea, stop taking Tobi's word as the word of god.

Valve never said have a stable roster, TOBI did.

They've had a stable roster for a long time and tbh it was a change that didn't affect too much, 2 players left for 2 new players, it was a trade. You guys act like you don't have a clue about what stable means.

Odd, I'd agree.. but the quote was "secure your roster", which might simply mean something like make contracts to "own" your players. I'm just guessing but this was unexpected.
Edit: 2 players is a big deal, imo. One more and you changed more than half your team.

Yeah, had the same impression. But well, good news for Darer, they can still get in D:

cmon guys be realistic. If valve were inviting only stable-roster teams they could just give Na'Vi the million and be done with it. CLG are good. they are popular. they can make it trough the competition and challenge the best teams in the world. They deserve to be here.

It is what I was asked to deliever to the community (the message) -- Of course selecting teams for the international is more complicated than just that one detail.

They are still trying to build their coordination, I'm sure they'll be a lot better in the international.
Well deserved invite btw!

Imo it was pretty clear when you said it. CLG has been stable for a long time, good organisation, nice players and one of the best teams defiently. I don't think none doubted these would be invited and too many look at the aspect as you said stability as it wouldn't have anything to do with the other parts that's required.

Can you faggots separate RL reasons from gaming reasons for leaving? They certainly didnt kick Loda because he was underperforming or smthing, LODA LEFT HIMSELF TO LIVE WITH HIS GF. Take it and stfu about stability, rly

most of them know which teams are going to be invited (xboct said '' i know but i am not allowed to speeak '' ) so loda isnt retarded to go to a team which wont participate in TI2. zenith is in.
