The International invites DK
posted by Jaywalker, 1 year ago

It is groundbreaking news.
DK is the first team to be invited for The International held in Seattle this year.
The team has received the first invitation from Valve to participate in the prestigious Dota 2 LAN to be held in Seattle this year. Although there is no official confirmation from Valve, DK has published photos of their invitation letters and announcing this news via their official Tencent Weibo.

Super, Zippo, LongDD, BurNing and rOtk with their invitations

The International invitation letters for DK
We have managed to contact BurNing and he gave us the following humble statement:

When we received the invitation naturally we felt excited and exhilarated. But after settling down, we know we shouldn't be happy this early. Getting a Visa is no easy task, our performance are of no competition to the top teams in Dota 2 right now. We will increase our efforts to train and improve our skills.
It is an exciting moment as all teams will be nervously anticipating an invite and hoping to participate in the event that had featured the prize pool of $ 1.6 million. It is unknown if more teams have received their invitations, stay tuned as joinDOTA bring you updates of more teams getting one of the coveted slots.
DK team roster:
Zhilei 'BurNing' Xu
Xiang 'LongDD' Huang
Xiong 'Zippo' Zhou
Fan 'rOtk' Bai
Junhao 'Super' Xie

Well yeah, you're right. Still, I believe they will improve a lot before TI 2.

I'm not Na'vi fanboy actually - but talks about DK as a top of TI2 seems to be naive for me.
Difference bw Dota1 and Dota2 is too huge, that's why I don't think that DK will manage to improve as necessary in time. However I still hope for Titan clashes throwout the whole tournament. So, GL DK!!!

Yea, right now, they are an A++ team capable of beating A teams like MTW, Mouz, etc but im sure they will hit S class when given time.
Seriously the improvement they have shown from their first dota 2 game to their latest is simply amazing.
To all those who are talking shit about DK, go watch more dota 2 tournaments instead of being narrow-minded.

The seal is a nice touch, can't wait for this tournament. My only hopes aside from what we already know from last year is less streaming problems, and maybe some more exciting picks. I remember the first DoTa2 match I saw had a Tiny in it, and almost no Tiny picks since then. Stuff like that can make every match more exciting. Hoping for some Sylla picks this time around.

It does. It will increase chinese publicity of dota 2, give them a solid chance to get visas sorted and get DK focused on playing and practicing dota 2.
