The first match of the day was between cn PSG.LGD and eu Team Secret. By the looks of things it was the match that could be decisive when it comes to who will be on top of group A. However, after a 1-1 draw the lead has still not been taken but the way that LGD slaughtered Secret in the 2nd game, s4 and crew don't look invincible at all.

The match between the two most dominant teams in Group A had without a doubt a ton on the line. If one of the teams managed to secure a 2-0 victory it would most likely secure them the 1st place finish in the group. That is a big deal : the 1st place finisher gets to pick the easiest opponent for their first Upper Bracket match. Winning that one BO3 means at least top 6 finish and more than $1,000,000 in prize money.

An even game up until Secret hit their timing

Secret were off to a great start in the first game of the match-up thanks to their laning setup which allowed them to win two lanes and do very well in the third one. They also managed to secure two early kills near the runes which all together gave them a fantastic start.

Rolling with the punches Secret wanted to steal LGD's jungle stack on the hard camp deep in the Chinese woods. LGD, knowing that they could not allow this to happen, brought all five heroes to defend. They ended up losing the stack but managed to get two crucial kills on se Gustav 's4' Magnusson as well as ca Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev which evened the game up after the disastrous start for them.

Great movement by the Chinese and wisely picked skirmishes made it look like the game was tipping into their favour, but Arteezy on his Shadow Fiend was farming, or even snowballing out of control which kept things close.

The downfall for LGD started when Secret managed to sneak in a Roshan after smoking. After that Secret's lineup was in it's prime and ready to go. On the back of s4's pickoffs that he managed to pull off thanks to an early Hex on his QoP, the European squad managed to push and secure the win.

Maybe outplays s4 and slaughters Secret with his Leshrac

The second game was a completely different story. Secret decided to let Lesh through the first ban phase and LGD immediately picked him up. And cn Yao 'Somnus' Lu delivered an outstanding performance on this hero. He managed to solo kill s4 in the mid lane and followed that up with another few kills thanks to assistance from the Earthshaker.

Soon after that he was running around killing enemy heroes all over the map. Not long after the scoreboard was showing a 9-0 score in favour of LGD. Secret tried to battle Chinese dominance with two Midases on their supports and a farming build on their core Gryo. However, Maybe's Lesh wasn't the only problem that needed to be addressed. A free-farming Anti-Mage was also present in the LGD line up.

Secret showed a sign of life when they beautifully positioned near their tier 2 tower and thanks to a great Death Ward from de Kuro S. 'KuroKy' Takhasomi, managed to win a fight against LGD for the first time this game. With morale boosted after that the European squad decided to contest LGD's Roshan attempt knowing that it was their only chance of staying in the game. However, the Chinese squad was absolutely ready for it and with their huge advantage they managed to win the fight and force a "gg" soon after.

With this match ending as a draw we still have no clear favourites in Group A. This means that all the matches will be incredibly important for both Secret as well as LGD. Dropping only one game may very well mean not finishing first in the group and giving up a huge advantage that it provides.
