After a rough three days journey, ex-GoSu swept FnaticRC in straight games to be crowned as the winner of joinDOTA Masters VI. On their way to the Grand Final, ex-GoSu defeated Evil Geniuses and Mousesports in the semis. FnaticRC on the other hand, took down Quantic Gaming and NEXT.kz prior to the Grand Final.
In an attempt to assert their dominance, both teams brought their A-game to the table thereby making the finals a memorable affair.
Game 1
Level 1 Roshan
Into the first minute of game, we witness Roshan going down at the hands of exGoSu. The Americans hold an early advantage of gold and level with Aegis going to Morphling. As the game proceeds, Korok’s Morphling with the support of Mikey’s Vengeful Spirit deny the much needed farm to Era’s Broodmother at top lane.
While at bottom lane, N0tail’s Sandking manages to get his blink dagger by 11th minute mark with the help of Fly’s Leshrac. In the process they manage to shutdown PAINTITGOLD’s farm on Beastmaster simultaneously.
At mid lane, Solara’s Syllabear is able to farm fairly against H4nn1’s Riki and NoVa’s Crystal Maiden. A gank at mid ensures first blood to ex-GoSu as they manage to take down Crystal Maiden and Riki (at 3.50 minutes) followed by the mid tower.
Meanwhile, Morphling on top lane gets a triple kill allowing him to get Ethereal Blade at 16th minute. This point onwards kills and towers are exchanged between both teams, as they try to outwit each other. At one point, Fnatic is able to bounce back into the game with Riki farming his Diffusal Blade and Black King Bar along with Orchid Malevolence on Broodmother.
On the other hand, Lone Druid manages to get his radiance by 21st minute along with Korok adding an Eye of Skadi and another Aegis to his inventory. With heavily farmed heroes, the Americans tower rush and are able to destroy the mid and bottom barracks of Fnatic’s base.
At 30th minute, the 'GG' call is made from Fnatic and ex-GoSu takes the lead with a score of 1-0.
Game 2
Rampage on Korok's Storm Spirit
The initial stage of the second game was quite balanced where we see Fnatic going for a trilane combo with Dark Seer, Pugna and Tidehunter at top lane. They manage to take first blood on Solara’s Windrunner and destroy top tower by 4th minute mark.
At mid, H4nn1’s Queen of Pain and PAINTITGOLD’s Shadow Shaman are able to farm their basic items without any interference.
While at bottom lane, Korok’s Storm Spirit is able to farm with the help of Mikey’s Crystal Maiden denying farm to Era’s Broodmother yet again.
By 22nd minute, both sides manage to get four towers each. However, a crucial gank at mid lane turns in favour of ex-GoSu where they manage to kill Pugna and Dark Seer allowing them to bring down Roshan. With Aegis on Storm Spirit, Fnatic are now trailing behind with a huge deficit in kill and gold ratio.
In the meantime, ex-GoSu is able to pull off some more kills with Storm Spirit adding Bloodstone, Black King Bar and Orchid Malevolence to his inventory.
A fail Roshan attempt by Fnatic at 35th minute gives an opportunity to ex-GoSu to kill two heroes and acquire the Aegis on Storm Spirit for the second time, followed by another two kills near the Dire Forest Shop.
A rampage to Storm Spirit at 42nd minute results in the loss of mid barracks for Fnatic who then make the ‘GG’ call and ex-GoSu win the second game.
