As far as past major tournaments go, none of them have really been that fun. Spectacular, for sure, with the grandeur of Seattle's KeyArena or Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena, but those are just big shells, packed full of seats and shops with little else going on besides. This all changes in September, with The Gaming Resorts bringing all the excitement of a beach holiday to a major LAN event. Get all of the details in this exclusive reveal.
The idyllic views fans can expect in Portorož

Organised by GamingRS, the first Dota 2 event of theirs is shaping up to be quite a big affair. With an upfront prize pool of $50,000, and crowdfunding options being made available in the future, this should bring both players and fans in from all around the world.

In terms of the Dota itself, the event runs from September 10-12, and so far 3 teams of a possible 8 in the tournament have confirmed their participation: ua Natus Vincere, ru Team Empire and se Ninjas in Pyjamas*. With the organisation in talks with other world class teams such as eu Team Secret, us Evil Geniuses and world Cloud9 amongst others, this is set to be yet another top-tier competition.

A taste of the accomodation on offer

As far as the location goes, the picturesque Portorož, Slovenia looks nothing but first rate. Located on the coast of the Mediterranian, it's a prime tourist location, so any spectators heading down can be sure of a good time (buzzing nightlife as well as two on-site music stages), as well as some good Dota. The tournament itself also offers on-site luxurious accomadation for spectators, making it really the full package in terms of a viewer experience.
