I think Purge is fine, but if I have a choice I'll usually watch something else. It's just that I don't like it when eSports takes itself too seriously, not enough general chat, there's no chemistry between him and the various co-casters. When there's downtime I really don't want to listen to people read out the last-hit numbers I'd rather just have them tell a story about the players, or about the meta game trends, etc...
That said, some people like it when commentators focus on the game and don't just try to be entertaining. I know a lot of people hate that Day9 does more 'fun' videos than before. I personally don't subscribe to that sentiment though, entertainment first.
This goes for most Dota 2 commentators, not just Purge. But it also takes time, the commentators which I currently like were a lot more "by the books" when they started.

Gosuleague prizes are low first season and will be increased in second/third season. keep in mind this is a much shorter event than TPL/The Defense for example, I don't see many larger monthly tours out there so why hate?
As for casters, I think Purge is much more entertaining than almost every other caster, this may be because he is less focused on appearance of his cast (screaming and getting excited) and more into being correct and analyzing stuff in the way a pro would. (With good understanding aswell, from what I saw he never makes the all-too-common mistake of claiming to know something and then end up being wrong. From my perspective that's worth a lot.)

Purge constantly over analyze stuff. It's so annoying. Sometimes the little details doesn't matter and they just happen, you don't need a full min to explain the cause and effects about every single thing.
That said, he's a good caster:=)

Tobi clearly is Valve's 44th international hire mentioned in their new booklet. He's been casting so infrequently as of late, there is no other explanation. Or maybe him and Synd finally decided to take their relationship to the next level and hes busy with that....
Also, to answer what's wrong with Purge: he is an extremely annoying and boring caster. Huge plays can happen and he'll remain completely monotone the entire time. Tobi makes Dota a better spectator sport than it actually should be with his unmatched casting ability. Not to mention the huge level of humor he brings to his casts (with some help from Synd/other co-commentators) which no other commentator actually does.

so much hate on Purge .... no one is perfect, and each caster has their own styles. Tobi makes every game more entertaining with his shouting voice, but he makes lots of mistakes (game mechanics for example, not paying attention to the game bc he's trolling or being trolled by the co-caster) and sometimes saying nonsense things, Purge is focus more about analyzing & predicting tactics/strats, because he has good knowledge about the mechanics, he also doesn't make lots of mistakes while casting, therefore both of them use their own strength to become good casters and so far they all great

It shouldn't, It's GoSu is Captain Planet. They took a new team
xGoSu is another team which does not participate in this tournament.
