Na'Vi win the StarSeries
posted by Blue_Knight, 1 year ago
Natus Vincere, the firm favourites for the competition, emerged as the victors of the SLTV StarSeries after the Grand Finals finally, finally came to an end this morning after a massively delayed start to the proceedings. Read on for a summary of the games.
The best-of-three Semi-Final match between Counter Logic Gaming and Moscow Five took place earlier in the afternoon. In the first game, M5's Area-of-Effect-based draft simply proved to be too hot for CLG to handle for CLG, and they were beaten convincingly.
However, they learned from their mistakes in the second game, with an ingenious Pugna pick - which was played with distinction by stand-in
Misery - being the catalyst for their second game victory. The Swedes could not win an evenly-contested third game though, as
PGG pulled off a huge Black Hole with his Enigma to set his team up for the game-winning fight and take his team to the Grand Final.Game one of the massively delayed Grand Final went M5's way, with their gank-proficient draft and gank-heavy style of play rewarding them well, and giving room for Silent's Anti-Mage to farm for the late game. Not even
Puppey's beloved Chen could save his team in the early game from
Vigoss's Night Stalker and the global presence of PGG's Nature's Prophet. In the second game, M5 stormed into the lead again, and this time Vigoss' Night Stalker was complimented with PGG roaming using Vengeful Spirit and
BloodAngel sniping with his Invoker's Sun Strike. However, the momentum shifted the other way when Puppey's Enigma combined with
LightOfHeaven's Dark Seer to Vacuum the whole M5 team into the Black Hole at the Roshan pit, despite M5 managing to kill him first and taking the Aegis, which they lost immediately. From that point on Na'Vi dominated, with
XBOCT acquiring a Divine Rapier to end M5's chances. In game three, it was Na'Vi who ran the Nightstalker and Nature's Prophet, whereas M5 daringly drafted the unconventional Dazzle and Huskar. However, PGG's unexpected picks backfired in their execution, as Na'Vi dominated their opponents in all aspects on their way to outright victory.
Final Standings
1st -
Natus Vincere, $ 6,0002nd -
Moscow Five, $ 3,0003rd -
Counter Logic Gaming, $ 2,500 4th -
Darer, $ 2,000

So you really hope to not get spoilert on a soccer newspage if the championsleague final is over or European Championship? Please dude .. no offense, but if you don't want to get spoiled, watch the VOD directly on twitch next game.
Anyway, M5 played a pretty good match to NaVi, totally rape 'em in first game. Imho they could also took second game but lost it through the stupid roshan fight.
Im disapointed by DARER, doesn't even show up for the award ceremony (beside Santa - GJ!).. but well, just shows again that Artstyle is a little kid (he didn't congratz enemys after they won, he just ran away after cointoss without saying goodluck, etc...) tthink he was just mad that he lost every game - especially vs. M5.
In the End you can see, that NaVi is the only team that stands together in their arms and didnt just grab for the money.
Overall an entertaining Tournament but a horrible schedule and hugh organiztaion problems (Big Delays)

Grats to the expected winner! Too bad for CLG though, was rooting for them to battle it out in the Finals with Na`Vi.

The only thing missing was Tobi's BLACK HOLEEEEEEEEEE.
Proceeded by his comments of how M5 evaporated.

Naaah.. The only team that comes close to Na'Vi teamplay and class is EG. Let's hope their roster problems are fixed soon so we can see a stable team for the international.

The only problem with EG is their consistency. There are times when they play like the best team in the world, other times they just don't get their cards right and throw games. Their taleny level is very high but they need to rekindle the synergy they used to have.

way to late (the 20 hour long purge Q&A was fun though, i just love a caster who calls out people who ask stupid questions or flame with no reason), but fun games overall. rapier games are always fun :), the game 1 stomp was unexpected.
the most annoying thing was the caster bashing in the hours before, and she wasnt that bad.
on the spoiler free topic:
there is no reason to be a **** about questions like this. alot of people (like me) come from other communities and news sites with spoiler free options do exist (good example is TL, and they are kinda big).
next time someone asks, why not just inform him that holymaster has already stated that joindota will keep news with spoilers?
no reason to flame someone who asked politely.
