"Cty American visa rejected, need help" was the message post on Weibo by EHOME team manager Tang "71" Wenyi (pictured). cn Chen 'Cty' Tianyu is not the first Chinese player to run into difficulties ahead of TI, with CIS having similar trouble last year. What is more worrying for the Chinese organisation is that according to LGD's Orrin "nite" Xu, Valve's invitation letter was "completely disregarded".

LGD's business development manager Orrin Xu shed further light on the situation:

Last year the Chinese team cn CIS*'s visa issues were almost comical, with the team succeeding on the fourth try after finding a visa officer who happened to be a Dota 2 fan. "Fourth try, everyone passed. When I found out the visa was approved I was almost in tears," said cn Lin 'Son Goku' Shi Yang at the time. "The officer understood Dota2...all his questions were about dota2, asking me my ID and when our team was made."

Meanwhile Navi's ru Akbar 'SoNNeikO' Butaev was also the victim of a rejected visa last week, but there was cause for positivity after Navi employee Moritz "Moose" Zimmerman tweeted that Valve was "pulling all their strings and contacts" to help in his next application later this week. It is not all doom and gloom however, with Empire, VP and Vici Gaming all confirming their visas were successful.
