Quantic becomes Eclypsia, PlaymatE joins

New and upcoming organization Eclypsia has acquired the Dota 2 squad from

Quantic Gaming, and

Amel 'Playmate' Barudzija will be joining the team.

After leaving

Evil Geniuses in March, Playmate has since been without a team. Today, with Eclypsia's acquisition of Quantic's Dota 2 squad, sees his return to the competitive scene, and fans will surely rejoice to see him back in action. Contrary to rumors of

Martin 'AngeL' Olsen leaving, they decided to pull a Mouz, and Playmate's addition will mean the unexpected departure of

Sylvester 'Link' Hoelgaard.

Brian 'MaNia' Strandby gave a statement about this change:

The ultimate dream for all Dota 2 players out there is the chance to play Dota 2 for a living and fully being able to concentrate on the game itself. We are so lucky to have been given that chance by Eclypsia. We have also made a change in the roster itself. The roster is now strengthened by my old teammate from MYM, Playmate. I believe we in the future can provide some strong results with this roster, and everyone in the roster will use our hunger to be the best as fuel to win. I hope our fans will keep supporting us, since we rely so much on your support!

I guess they want to move forward. I think Playmate is a very suitable and experienced player.
Link is a great farmer but his decision-making is/was often rather poor.

I haven't been a "fan" of Quantic gaming, although I like them better than most teams.... But I've kinda been a fan of Link :/

Do anyone have any idea were he will go ? Assuming he will continue playing dota (really hope so..)

Good news.Link was good, but not experienced enough and often made mistakes. Also he could play only farming carrys, without farm hes weak. Playmate is far more experienced and now this team has more strategies and picks to use

I honestly don't get this "trend" of people hating Link. At first it was cool to like Link, and everyone did, and now it's cool to hate link... like it's his fault his team doesn't do well.

Ah well, maybe Monkey... I mean SK.... I mean Quantic... I mean eClypsia will finally stabilize and have some decent performances.

i got 2 things to say link is not a bad player, in any since, but how can you keep up with a player there played in the compertive scene in more years than link have played dota? playmate is a player the play everything, link can only play heroes there needs like a lot of farm do shit, i dont think link got kick out, i think he left, cause i heard the was so problems betwen some of the players, and i think Amel is the best dota player ever cause you never know what he is gonna play :P and he never plays bad :p good luck eC playmate i know you can carry them, but you need mania :P

they needed change, their performance was quite bad recently, Playmate good players, Link? dunno why him some problems or he was the weakest part of chain? lets see them now go ;)
