Winter: Pinoy teamwork is superb

posted by Jaywalker, 1 year ago
As one of South East Asia's top teams, my Orange eSports has been active in both DotA and Dota 2. In an interview with GosuGamers, team captain my Litt-Binn 'Winter' Chan talks about his team, their respect for Pinoy teamwork, preparation for the upcoming ProDOTA2 match against cn DK and more.

What did you pick up from the Filipinos, apart from trusting your teammates?

We understood how to handle bottle crow as well as some of their drafts - they play differently and ward differently. About trust - when I was in the Philippines, I stood behind their team and I got BloodyMassacre (Filipino video editor) to translate what the team was communicating to one another.

During matches, I found out that they really trusted each other a lot. When someone said something, everyone follows without a doubt. Their team work is superb and full on team fights are where Pinoys really shine a lot.

Where is Yamateh? He hasn't been playing in most of your team's recent matches/competitions.

He doesn't play much DotA. He mainly focuses on Dota 2 - he played with us at the Razer Invitational in Malaysia. Well, his real life job prevents him from committing to both games and he prefers Dota 2 over DotA.
To all those people who are asking whether Yamateh is still a part of the team, he is.

You have quite a big upcoming match against DK in the ProDOTA2 League. How prepared are you?

We have been practising DotA lately, but we will definitely switch the focus to Dota 2 these few days to prepare for the game against DK. We hope we had more time but we needed to follow our tournament schedule. It's been very packed for us. *laughs*

The interviews was ok. But don't simply just copied from what Gosugamers edited.
If u want to do a own personal JoinDOTA interviews, just walk into Orange's shop-lots as i assume u know where it is located (Jaywalker)

We have always quoted interviews from other sites like that. Quoting 2-3 questions if the interview is worth mentioning so that our community don't get left out on what is out of our site. The fact that Jaywalker is Malaysian have nothing to do with knowing the Malaysian players very much like a Russian player may not necessarily know or is in contact with PGG.

We are working on several interviews at the moment. Winter is just not in our list.

its not a personal joinDOTA interview, its news to tell us that there has been an interview, and theres clearly a link in the bottom as well as certain pieces taken from it like a preview.

It used to be but the present use of the term is no longer considered racist and even Filipinos use the term "pinoy" to refer themselves.

well duno but after what u said "nigger" used also to be a racist word and today they use the term to refer themselves. HOWEVER ONLY AMONG THEM! its still considered racist!

so I do not get your point sorry! I think ppl still feel offended. Maybe its different with "pinoy" but who knows!

I hate racism and that is the only reason I bother arguing!

^Played with Pinoys before and I often ask them if they feel offended if they get addressed that way. They really don't mind it at all. Like a post above mentioned, they even call each other 'pinoys'.

Anyways, I'm Malaysian and I support Orange but I honestly think that Winter is all talk but no implementation. He's the weakest link in the team.

imho, their strongest lineup is KyXy on mid, Mushi on carry, Yamateh on solo lane, xtinct and ice on support/ganker and well Winter on the bench.

^Mushi must be solo imo. He plays very aggresively, and is hard to be killed 1v1.

Seems to me that Winter is like a mascot for the team haha. Like he has some special connection with the managers and Frankie.
