StarSeries Finals - Day 2 summary

posted by Blue_Knight, 1 year ago
An entertaining second day of battle at the Kiev Cyber Sport Arena between the SLTV StarSeries's final four combatants has just come to its end.

In the Lower Bracket Final match, ru God was unable to keep his promise, as ru PGG once again demonstrated his LAN competition prowess by leading ru Moscow Five to beat the more experienced crowd-favourites, ru Darer, in a straight two-game victory.

The first game was an especially epic affair; a 50 minute kill-fest in which both teams had their chances to win, but some questionable decisions from Darer and brave plays from M5 ultimately gifted the victory to them. In the second game, M5 were dominant once again, with an amazing Black Hole from PGG's Enigma paving the way for his team's ultimate victory.

In the first game of the Upper Bracket Final match between ua Na'Vi and se CLG, the Swedes were put to the sword in a one-sided victory, in which ua Dendi notably played a phenomenal Exort-based Invoker, notching up several kills in the early part of the game with frighteningly accurate use of Sun Strike.

In the second game, ee Puppey once again proved himself to be a pioneer (and perhaps a trendsetter), this time taking his unexpected Pugna pick into the woods to farm using stacked creep camps and Smoke of Deceit. CLG made this game more of a contest than the first, but even se Pajkatt's famously farmed and potent Anti-Mage wasn't enough to stop Na'Vi's onslaught, as ru LightOfHeaven led the charge with his equally farmed Lone Druid.

With Darer now eliminated from the tournament, they pocket the 4th place prize of $2000 for themselves. CLG have been relagated to the Lower Bracket and will face off against M5 tomorrow for a shot to take on Na'Vi once more in Sunday's Grand Final. Stay tuned to joinDOTA as we bring you more updates.
