Since Fnatic announced that they dropped their Serbian Dota 2 team, many have been speculating if they would pick up a new team or not. However, all those questions have been answered today, as Fnatic have announced that the majority of their current Heroes of Newerth team will make the switch to Dota 2.
Considered to be one of the best HoN teams in the world, the Fnatic squad has had numerous successes in their game of choice and collectively they have earned more than $67,000 in prize money since their formation.

With the popularity of Dota 2 gaining traction day-by-day, the team has finally made one of the most important decisions in their gaming career by switching over to Dota 2. However, their long time teammate, de Kai 'H4nn1-' Hanbueckers - himself a former DotA professional - will not be making the switch and thus will be dropped from the Dota 2 team. Their fifth and final player will be announced in a later date.

This marks the first time a team belonging to a professional eSports organization have made the switch from HoN to Dota 2. The team has made known that they will still be participating in HoN tournaments if the time permits them to do so, but their training time for that game will be greatly reduced.

de Jascha 'NoVa' Markuse, FnaticRC Dota 2 support player has the following to say regarding the switch:
Everyone knew that sooner or later we had to make a decision regarding a possible switch to a more competitive game such as Dota 2. With the current Fnatic Dota 2 team being released it was only natural for us to get into the act and take the next step in our professional gaming career. We will keep playing Heroes of Newerth tournaments whenever it fits the schedule but reduce our training to a maximum of one day per week.Ultimately we're just very excited to become a part of that and prove ourselves in this game. Dota 2, here we come!

rs Danijel 'StreeT' Remus, FnaticRC General Manager has the following to say regarding the switch:
This decision is certainly one of the most, if not most, important in gaming careers of every player on the team and is strongly supported by management. We are happy to continue cooperation with the team and once again enter the doors to Dota 2 after a short break. It is going to take a while for the team to adapt even though the games are similar, but yet so diffierent in many aspects. Even with game being in closed beta, the community is getting big, more and more players daily, decent amount of tournaments with really good competition and we want to be part of it. The team will look to repeat success from Heroes of Newerth where they have been dominant for almost two years, winning many major tournaments. It's important to mention that the team will still compete in HoN tournaments like ESL Major Series which is currently in the group stage. Big thanks goes to our sponsors RaidCall, MSI, SteelSeries, Eizo and Gunnar Optiks.
