So you're looking to cash-in on the Dota 2 economy and not sure how to do it? Look no further. We've put together our top 6 tips of how to break open that cash-cow by creating your very own ficticious LAN event. Why not learn from the success of CGUnitedLLC, an American company that came from literally nowhere, to wow the scene with their mouth-watering prize pool.

Step 1: Save money on web-design, just use a free Wordpress template
Wordpress, pure genius. Now they might actually believe you're a real company

You've just gathered a ficticious $500,000, but no need to blow any of your own money on a website, that's why people get Wordpress. Throw together a make-shift website so you have some way to gather gullible plebs into thinking you actually will organise the tournament. Don't forget to buy some Twitters followers to throw off suspicion.

Step 2: Pick a ridiculous prize pool to get people's attention
A million might be a bit ambitious, say half a million dollars to seal the deal, and make sure the source of the money remains as mysterious as possible. Oh and if you're feeling bold, why not even throw up a DONATE NOW button to make sure you get some REAL cash straight into your PayPal account.

"URN Real Money" a la Sheever with a button like this

Step 3: Pick an impressive location, and make sure it's close to TI

Who cares about The International anyway? Make sure your badboy is right up there to create some schedule conflicts and improve the credibility of your tournament. Also pick a location that looks impressive but that the average Joe will actually have no idea what it is usually used for.

Step 4: Create a ficticious history of events with Photoshop CS5!
Just use a League of Legends championship photo and voila! (don't forget to embed your logo)

Put your highly extensive photoshop skills to work. Take a picture from a well known event, and simply add your own branding to convince people you're a multi-million pound institution. They won't know the difference!

Step 5: Pimp out your About Us page
We've got to convince these people your company is legit. So why not showcase the talents of some of your staff, remember to pick images and information that will impress!

Step 6: Generate some hype by involving a known star

Oops guess you made a mistake there, you were supposed to be founded in 2003. Remember to keep the "facts" about your company as consistent as humanly possible.

And remember, make sure an unsuspecting news portal writes about it
