Ariana bites the dust

de Ariana Gaming have decided to disband their Dota 2 team citing roster problems and will no longer be supporting them.

Formerly known as PANZER, the German all-stars team who recently found a sponsor, was seen playing without a complete 5 man roster for most of their official games.

Team manager David de 'DrunKin' Pella has the following to say regarding the sudden disbandment:

Team Ariana is no more. You might have heard that the team has not been practicing together for few weeks now. Later on, Leaf decided to leave the team due to some internal reasons. There were no problems with each other and it's basically the skill level that has led to this. Leaf and Pas would like to improve themselves, while the others didn't want to spend a lot time into gaming. That was the final reason for Ariana to officially drop the team.

The team has been playing with de Kuro Salehi 'KuroKy' Takhasomi as a stand-in to fill the void ever since. The uncertainty of finding a suitable replacement and internal problems have plagued the team resulting in its disbandment.

Even being forced to use a stand-in for most of their official games, Ariana has had a fairly good tournament run. Their best results so far is getting to the Grand Final of Skynet's Tournament in which they eventually lost to ro Dignitas and making through "The Defense" play-offs.

Statement from Ariana Gaming Management:

Unfortunately we have to announce today, after a very short time the parting with our Dota 2 Team. This circumstance is very unsatisfying and by all means disappointing. A few problems withing the Team unfortunately do not leave us a choice but to cancel the contracts with immediate effect.

After we talked with 'Panzer' earlier this year and were discussing the formalities it seemed like everything was set for a future cooperation. Even after some ups and downs
fought for our team. We thought that with 'Panzer' we recruited a very motivated, talented and especially popular team.

From the start we told the players that the results would be secondary for the first time, we wanted to support our players on their way to professionalism.
Obviously not all the players are at fault with this, if we would have known this earlier we could have found another, better solution.

We are, as our sponsors, very disappointed with this development. Due to the matter of facts we will cancel the contracts with immediate effect.
We want this letdown to rest for the next few days and decide afterwards how we will proceed.

We are very annoyed with the development of this situation. We gave the boys our full trust and now we are left in the lurch. The chapter 'Panzer' is now closed for us.
We are very sorry for the players that are not at fault with this situation, but also for the Team-Manager David 'DrunKin' Pella, who did a really good job. Now is the time to cut a line - it was a short interlude, whose ending was surely not planned like this.

However, de Norman 'Leaf' Zörner will be seen playing for Western Wolves for the rest of "The Defense" tournament as a stand-in, replacing fr Antoine 'Dhany' L'Hotellier who is away due to real life issues.

Roster

de Pascal 'pas' Lohmeier
de Burak 'Saga' Seze
de Alexander 'Alex-' Reinhardt
de Norman 'Leaf' Zörner

seriously wtf?? this team was like 1,5 weeks old probably less and already disbanded. why would they even take the sponsorship? they were wasting theirs and ariana's time.

i really dont want to judge someone, but team with kky inside of it never did any good at profesional level, just ended up disbanded. he is a VERY good player dont get me wrong, with some bad lucks unfortunately i guess.

No offense taken. You really need to know that kky does not have anything to do with this. Kky was never a permanent member of the team and played as a stand-in only. The problem is with the original members, a few who were not interested .. so they thought of discontinuing. Although you are right that they shouldnt have taken the sponsorship.

I doubt you can blame Kuro for this. He was never part of the team and only played with them because the team was broken already.

But it is sad indeed that they take a sponsorship when things are messed up like that - on the other hand the ariana guys are really stupid to take in a team of 4 players that was on a clock already.

Dude, are u actually completely braindead? I read many nonsense posts, but this is just abysmal stupidity. EVERY team in the history of DotA disbanded, every single fucking team!!!!!
I know you are a NaVi fanboy and i would bet 1000 Euros that NaVi is gonna disband their roster too. It is all just a matter of time. Stop insulting KuroKy for no fucking reason.

You are taking him out of context. Hes saying that this new team came and went just like that, in the sense that they finally got a sponsor only to split. If that was the case, why take the sponsorship at all. I bet the sponsor wanted them to last a while which is why they offer them a sponsorship.

I mean look at the old MYM. Yea they disbanded but damn did they have a good run. Im sure the first poster wanted the same for this team.

ScTF: I don't mind people criticising and defending, that's the joy of having an argument but using insults and bad language is not good in the forums, you're killing the fun and not respecting other people's opinion, even if they are wrong.

it's sad to see teams disband, even more when it does not even last a month. And I really like their style of play :(

So I was finally going to see a German team with newer players, who are less experienced but do have great potential and are very ambicious, and KuroKy, an all-time DotA legend, who can share his great experience and skill to the youngstars. This team could've gone anywhere, you could actually watch them getting better in no time the last weeks, at first they got stomped by Dignitas, but then they managed to beat them in such an epic game (Game 1 of The Defense Losers Bracket). They still lost the other two games but that one game showed so much potential!

And now: disbanded. I mean seriously, WHAT THE FUCK?!
