us Evil Geniuses have defeated cn Big God in the second DAC Asian Championship winners’ bracket semi-final. The American squad’s 2-1 victory will see them move on to face cn Vici Gaming in the winners bracket final with a win over cn Xu ’BurNIng’ Zhilei’s Anti-Mage under their belt. Big God on the other hand will now have to fight their way through the losers' bracket for a chance at a rematch.

Sumail trumps the veterans! - Game one

EG decided to stick with their typical style in game one, drafting pk Syed ’Sumail’ Hassan’s notorious storm spirit in the first phase; in response Big God drafted Doom, however it wasn’t long before the young prodigy began to once again show the competition how formidable his storm is, picking up the first blood on the bottom lane before transitioning into an eleven kill snowball. BG did their best to stall the game, attempting to turtle with their medusa pick until they could accrue enough networth to challenge the Americans, but EG were determined to finish the game, taking multiple roshans and finally ending all hopes of a BG comeback with a decisive team fight that prompted a 36 minute GG call from the all-star Chinese team.

Fool us once, but never twice! - Game Two

After the resounding success of their Beastmaster Stormspirit combination in the first game; EG decided to try and end the series 2-0 with the same strategy, however, this time Big God had ample response, drafting an Abaddon Shadow Shaman support duo to control Sumail’s Storm and limit EG’s aggressive capability. Before long it became that BG had discovered the winning formula, taking a number of early game kills to secure themselves a sizable lead in the first ten minutes. Once BG had managed to get the items they needed EG could no longer defend their towers, being forced to give up more and more ground until eventually they ran out of ground to give, conceding the second game at the 24 minute mark to tie the series 1-1.

Storm Struggled to gain any momentum

Fear the Anti-Burning! - Game Three

The final game of the series would prove to be EG’s toughest test yet, with Burning playing his world famous Anti-mage. But the Chinese squad weren’t the only one sporting veteran players, as us Clinton ’Fear’ Loomis got off to a great start on Necrophos, securing his team an advantage by maintaining a networth lead over BG’s Anti-Mage the entire game. It was then Big God who lost their composure, continually falling prey to EG’s aggressive style with multiple pickoffs throughout the mid game.

It was then easy for EG to exploit the veteran squad’s hampered map presence to take roshan at every chance, further extending their lead and putting them in prime position to pressure the BG base. However, after having won multiple DAC games from behind, BG kept their cool, defending the high ground valiantly for over ten minutes, until, finally, the American squad managed to break the base, with Sumail brute forcing his way through BG’s front lines on TA. Once mega creeps were pouring into BG’s base they were forced to call GG, ending their winners’ bracket final hopes. With their win EG will now move on to face Vici Gaming in tomorrows winners’ bracket final.
