The Defense: Playoffs incoming

It has been a while, but The Defense's second group stage is now over and we have our top eight finalist for the playoffs. Lets take a look at who manages to advance and who fell short.

Four teams out of six will advance to the playoff stage, with the first and second ranked teams starting their playoff journey in the Winner's Bracket while third and fourth ranked will have to be content with starting in the Loser's BRacket.

In Group One, team

DD, formerly known as SK-Gaming was able to show their strength in the tournament taking down all their opponents, allowing them to advance to the playoffs with a 5-0 score.

The only non-Eruopean team remaining,

absolute Legends did not disappoint their fans by getting second rank in their group with a score of 4-1 with their only loss being to first ranked DD.

Western Wolves and

PANZER are the other two teams that manage to scrap through the group stage.

Over in Group two, we see a tie for first rank between

Evil Geniuses and

Na'Vi with a score of 4-1. A tiebreaker was to be played but both teams wanted to forfeit the game. In the end, a cointoss was done to determine the rankings for the teams in question. The result is that Na'Vi gets first ranking followed by EG.

Romanian all-star team,

Dignitas comes in at third and a final game between

mousesports and

Fnatic is to be played this coming Wednesday to determine the fourth team to advance.

As one can see from the playoff bracket, it will be a great show for all DotA fans around the world. The newly reformed team, EG will be put to the test playing aginst DD who had a really good tournament run lately. The Australians will go up against the Ukraines in revenge match up where the latter lost in match for first place in the first group stage.

Dignitas will be playing PANZER down in the loser's bracket and Western Wolves will play the winner of mousesports and Fnatic.

All matches will be streamed and shoutcasted by TobiWan himself, so make sure you tune in when the time is right.

Aside from fnatic-Mouz on Wednesday, the NaVi-aL and Digni-Panzer matches are supposed to be played a few days earlier than shown in the grid. The times are just not confirmed yet.

Very unsportsmanlike and unprofessional both from EG and NaVi wanting to forfeit the tiebreaker game, avoiding to get #1 in group and thus trying to dodge aL.
