As Valve's headquartes in Bellevue approach the icy descent into another long Washington winter, the Dota 2 team has announced several updates including Fantasy Dota's next season, new in-game items (including ice effigies), and the ability to gift "wrapped" Dota items in time for the holiday season. Of course, the seasons will be changing with patch 6.83.

While this patch is without question one of the smaller full patches to be released in recent memory, with relatively minimal mechanical or map changes, there is certainly a worthy assortment of hero changes to carefully peruse before this patch goes live. We'll have more on that very soon, with the 10 changes you most need to know. Expect this patch to lead to some meta shifts, with changes to high-tier favorites like Tidehunter, who will have his Ravage, movement speed, and even Refresher Orb all taking small nerfs.

In addition to the patch, Fantasy Dota is returning and will be bringing a special teleport effect for those individuals who were first, second, or third in a league last season (as well as a special trophy for their digital case). The play map will once again be frosted over, with snow and ice layering ever crevace of the familiar battleground.

And as always the store will be seeing a new assortment of items to garb and customize your digital duelers.
