SECS season finale this weekend

posted by Tezzeret, 49 days ago
The Sunday Evening Cup Series or better known as SECS will end its first season with a Single Elmination playoff tournament with cash prizes up for grabs to the top three teams.

Qualifiers for SECS have been hosted for the past month, with teams accumulating points for their wins or loses in them. Eight of the highest ranking teams have been seeded into the playoffs, two of the eight team hail from the land down under, Australia, while the rest all originate from the United States.

Team Rankings:

1. us It's Gosu (24 points)
2. us Fabio (17 points)
3. us Fire (16 points)
4. us Blitz Organization (12 points)
5. au Natural 9 (9 points)
6. au Kinect (7 points)
7. us Co9.GDT (7 points)
8. us Sill Difference (4 points)

Favorites to win the series are Natural 9 and It's Gosu. Having gone 4-1 in The Defense and winning their tiebreaker game against Na'Vi, the Aussies will be out for blood to prove that their results are not just a fluke.

Since being picked up by It's Gosu, the team has not have a great run in tournaments they participated in, failing to advance to the second group stage in "The Defense". They too will be out to prove to themselves and the rest of the world that they definitely deserve the sponsorship of It's Gosu.

Other noticable participants include Australian team, Kinect and The Blitz Organization led by former co-caster to Madmortigan.

All the games will be played in a single elimination fashion except for the Grand Final in which a best-of-three format will be effective. The tournament will be streamed by shoutcasters from GosuGamers and NEODotA beginning from Saturday 22:30 CET.
