The International e-Sports Federation will feature Dota 2 in the 6th edition of their e-Sports World Championships. The LAN tournament will feature a couple of well-known names both playing and casting, as 14 teams battle it out over 4 days from 12th-16th November for a prize pool of $50,000.

Another big-money LAN tournament is on the horizon, although seemingly coming from a different angle in regards to teams and players participating. We will get to see the some big names such as
cn Newbee and kr MVP Phoenix participating, although instead under the names of 'Team China' and 'Team Korea' respectively. So it seems IeSF wishes to have players representing their countries in this tournament, and have brought in other fan-favourites such as fi Kalle 'Trixi' Saarinen representing Finland and ro Omar 'w33haa' Aliwi of MMR leaderboard fame to play for Romania.

Despite the unconventional way of doing things, IeSF have the funds to back it up. A $50,000 prize pool may not be the biggest we see for tournaments with Tier 1 teams nowadays, but considering this tournament features some much lesser known teams and players, this certainly gives them a chance to make some big prize money as well as get some recognition.

Not only is this a chance for lesser-known players to make themselves known, but it also marks a return to e-Sports for IeSF. This is the organisation's first major tournament for a while, and could be the start of more to come if this goes well. The addition of a DotaTV ticket could both add to the prize pool and the tournament's hype, and one is planned to be added to the game soon.

Also in their announcement, IeSF reveal the English casting line-up for the event. TheCapitalist and TobiWan as well as Durka will be flown out to the event to cast on LAN at the Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan, where the event is being held over the 4 days, with free entry for all spectators.
