Invictus Gaming will have their chance to defend their ESL One title later this year, that is assuming they make their way through the Chinese qualifiers which were announced earlier today. Eight teams will compete for just a single spot at the main event in Madison Square Gardens in New York City, but can IG shake off the rust in time?

cn Invictus Gaming will have been swotting up on their opposition over the weekend after they were notably absent from the WEC LAN event. The Chinese team have not been as active as their Chinese counterparts, but it may play in their favour with both Newbee and Vici Gaming playing a lot of games over the weekend.

The format of the qualifiers will be a "double-elimination groupstage", with the top two of each group advancing to the best-of-3 semi-finals. Two teams will progress from each group to then face-off in a single-elimination playoff, with the winner going to ESL One New York.
