Post-event depression after The International 2014? Not this year! Just about two weeks after the all-Chinese final, four Western teams are taking an opportunity to take revenge in the i-league, a Lan-event in Shanghai hosted by ImbaTV. The prizepool starts at 100,000 RMB (~$16,000), but has been increased via crowdfunding to 680,000RMB (~$110,000) and still rising!

The prize-pool can be increased via three different ways - but not through the usual system provided by ValvE. ImbaTV has partnered up with a Chinese crowdfunding site, where people can add funds repeatedly. 70% of the funds will then flow into the prize pool. However, modian.com will also increase the prizepool by 1RMB for each person registering on their site and following them on Wechat, and ImbaTV also puts 1 RMB on top for every time a person adds funds.

Schedule

  • American Qualifier: 11th of August - 17th of August- 2 teams
  • European Qualifier: 18th of August - 24th of August - 2 teams
  • Chinese Qualifier: 25th of August - 31st of August - 2 teams
  • Lan Finals: 4th of September - 7th of September

Like most LAN events, this tournament will consist of both online and offline phases: In the online phase, three different regional qualifiers are hosted. Respectively, two teams from Europe, America and China can qualify for the LAN Finals, where they will be joined from two Chinese teams which will be invited as fan favorites based on a poll. Sign-Ups for the tournament can be found here.
