ESL have released more information about the upcoming ESL One Frankfurt 2014 which includes the number of direct invites as well as the distribution of places according to region. The European and Americas qualifiers will include seeded teams as well as places for teams who make their way through the open brackets.

The ESL One Frankfurt 2014 will be held from the 28-29th June in the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt, with ESL putting the second wave of tickets up for sale earlier this evening. Details of how to purchase tickets to attend the event can be found here.

With many players putting the new competition high on their priority list including Vanskor who put it on par with Starladder, DreamLeague and TI4 in a recent interview, details of the qualification process were in high-demand. ESL have now revealed that the main stage qualifiers will include seeded teams, 12 for Europe and 4 for the Americas, as well as four teams from open bracket qualifiers. Information surrounding the Asian qualifiers are yet to be announced.

Only six teams from the qualifiers will reach the LAN Finals, with Europe receiving 3 spots, Asia receiving 2 and the Americas awarded just one spot. This means the likes of Team Liquid, Team EG, Cloud9 and feasibly Team Dog will all be fighting over just a single place. The two remaining teams at the LAN finals will be direct invites, meaning there will be a total of 8 teams competing for the $150,000.
