UPDATE: The Staff Cup returns!

Prepare yourself for some serious madness: The world-famous Staff Cup returns the 1st of March and promises to be bigger, funnier and crazier than ever! With a few changes to the old format, the cup will bring once again all these people into the spotlight, that usually work behind the scenes. It's time to get some popcorn and to put the beer on ice, so you can sit back and enjoy an evening full of crazy DOTA 2 action!

Contrary to the last editions, this time around all matches will be played in Captains Draft - so expect some unconvential strategies coming out from the teams. Some of them might be lead into the battle by some ex-Pro Players like

Jakob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen and

Dmitriy 'LightOfHeaven' Kupriyanov - another change to the old format.

The 16 Teams will be split into 4 groups and play against each other once. The top two of every group will advance to the playoffs, where they will try to fight their way to the best-of-three grand final.

Toby Tobiwan Dawson has once more improved the line-up of his team 4 guys, 1 girl and a DOTA cup: with the strong addition like

Dennis HolyMaster Schumacher, who will not compete for the joinDOTA League. So far not a single team from joinDOTA was able to take home the victory in the staff cup, but maybe the editorial Crew around

However, please take note that more teams such as BeyondTheSummit, Dota Cinema and Major League Gaming have been invited but had to decline due to schedule conflicts.
