Commentator Luminous has clarified in a blog post that his departure from BeyondTheSummit, which was a hot topic on reddit last night, was not due to friction between the two parties. He also mentioned that he in fact would be happy to work with BTS in the future. Fans will be happy to know Luminous plans to keep on commentating.
Lumi is safe and sound and will keep on commentating

The dust has settled on the reddit storm which blew up last night when it was discovered Luminous was no longer a part of the BeyondTheSummit studios via the announcement of new commentator Zyori. Despite efforts by an individual to stir the pot by posing as Luminous himself using a fake nickname, LD as well as Luminous spoke out about the events surrounding his departure.

Many of you have been wondering what happened between Lumi and BTS. Lumi had been working informally with us for some time, and a few months ago we were in talks about establishing a more formal arrangement. We made him an offer for a full-time position with BTS, and ultimately he decided to pursue other ventures instead.

As I've said in countless interviews past, I'm deeply indebted to Lumi for giving me a shot. He saw something in me when few others did, when I was a completely unknown caster, and he gave me my first big break by inviting me to join Dota Commentaries nearly two years ago.

Once there, I met Tuski_Atre, Godz, Mali, & Bruno, and from there the rest is history. It's been a wonderful ride, and there are countless people that everyone fortunate enough to work in eSports owes thanks to, but Lumi is certainly at the top of my list.

With that being said, there is certainly no ill will from our end. Both David and I consider Lumi our good friend and a respected colleague. We have no animosity towards him and wish him nothing but the best.

We haven't spoken publicly on the subject because we respect Lumi, and we didn't feel it was our place to speak out on his behalf. Lumi's situation and his plans moving forward are his to announce as he sees fit, and it wouldn't be right for us to usurp that or steal his thunder. I'm sure when the time is right, Lumi will reveal what he's been up to as well as what he's planning for the future.

I wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors, and who knows, maybe one day we'll be reunited. Until then, all I can say is I'm personally grateful to him and respect him immensely, and I hope he'll continue to stay involved with our community moving forward.

Several hours later Luminous broke his silence by posting on his blog, the following is an extract from his post:

I plan to produce my advanced guides in a biweekly fashion. In preparation, I’ve been writing scripts for a couple of heroes. It’s quite a challenge to write the guide for Quas Exort Invoker! Explaining all the spells can take a bit of time… I wonder how I’ll format that video. The cool thing about these guides is that I’ll be taking requests, so if you really need a guide on Sniper, I got you.

Beyond camera control, mechanics knowledge and game intuition, I want to push myself in other aspects of live casting. Camera charisma, rapport with co-casters and game hype are areas that I want to work on and excel at. There are several exciting possibilities for live casting overseas in the near future, where I feel I can push myself even further. Don’t worry, guys, casting is my passion, so hopefully you’ll be hearing a lot from me. J

To answer the recent questions about BTS: I am a freelance contractor, which meant if they wanted me and I was available, I’d cast for them. I was offered a full-time position in October, but we agreed to maintain the contractor relationship. Since then, I have been and still am available for casting various events. I am always happy to work with BTS if the opportunity arises in the future.

Before I end this post, I want to express my sincere gratitude for those that have been caring for and supporting me all these years. Whether you guys have been here since the Luminous48 days, or recently joined in because of my rapping skills. It’s thanks to you guys that I’m still going strong.
