Following the creation of a new Facebook page, rumours regarding yet another reboot of long-standing eSports organisation Meet Your Makers have now been confirmed. The organisation has also said that they will be once again delving into the world of DOTA2 despite their last involvement ending badly.

In 2007 and 2008 MeetYourMakers were a dominating force in eSports and one of the most acclaimed gaming organisations in the world. With an incredibly strong Polish Counter-Strike team with players now considered to be amongst the greatest of all time. Their Warcraft3 squad was also prolific with huge sums of money invested into a roster which included "fifth race" kr Jang "Moon“ Jae-ho and the European poster-boy of the era and double WCG champion Manuel nl "Grubby" Schenkhuizen.

Will Maelk return to MYM?
As for their involvement in dota1, the MYM website was one of the European hubs for Dota1 news as it hosted an extremely popular tournament called MYM Prime. It was in the MYM Prime and under the MYM flag that dk Jacob "Maelk" Toft-Andersen rose to critical acclaim, not to mention other European players and teams.

There have been several attempts to revive the Meet Your Makers brand in the past, to return it to its former glory, but none as of yet have been successful. In 2010 and 2011 with the popular rise of Starcraft2, the leaders of MYM at the time tried to inject the MYM organisation with life once again with the addition of former Warcraft3 stars but the squad underperformed and eventually closed.

Then the organisation endured humiliation with a scandal surrounding fr Laurent 'Ange' Blum, the manager of the DOTA2 team at the first International, who withheld prize money from his team. Ange is also well-known for having his license revoked by Valve last year, after he was accused of cheating item creators for his TPL league out of their share of the profit.

Despite previous failures and a tarnished reputation in the DOTA2 scene, rebooting this old brand makes sense in the Esports market as the scene is crammed with new teams trying to make a name for themselves and grab our attention. Relying on brand awareness to help get the organisation rolling again - an organisation which currently boasts a successful League of Legends team - is a smart move by its new investors who will hopefully put forward a DOTA2 line-up also able to compete in the top flight. On the topic of how to ensure the new team would have stability CEO Khaled Naim told OnGamers that "the old management was not able to plan this in a stable way. MYM has been damaged because of this. I want to do it right and correctly." He then went onto to say that "mistakes, which have happened in the past, will be avoided by me."

For those among us who have been in the scene long enough to remember the glory days of MYM, their return is a touch of nostalgia, but for the rest, the relevance of MYM's revival will be heavily determined by their DOTA2 roster which is at the moment anyone's guess.

Who will be in the new MYM line-up?
