The groupstage portion of the RaidCall EMS One Summer Season has ended, as six teams have joined us Evil Geniuses as they venture forth to the LAN Finals in Poland, to be played out in three weeks time. There does however still remain one spot to be filled, as we await the schedule to be set for the seventh place decider with each of the third placing teams from the European groups as well as the best of the fourth placing teams will play it out in a single elimination bracket for their path to the finals.

As dk Flip.sid3 took their expected second place in the group, this leaves ru Netolic.ru to play it out through the single elimination bracket for their change to make it to the LAN Finals as well. Given their 1:2 game against fr Quantic Gaming, fr Imaginary Gaming also still have a shot at getting into the seventh team decider, as they are the only losing team who managed to force a third game in their round one match-up so far.

While there was room for an upset in Group B, ru RoX.KiS with their brand new fifth player once more secures their qualification for the EMS One LAN finals in straight 2-0 games. This leaves rs iNfernity to duke it out with the other third placed after a solid performance so far in the competition.

In Group C, de mousesports took a convincing first place, as se The Alliance met more resistance than was expected, dropping their first match-up against fi Rat in the Dark while playing with stand-in's in place of se Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist and se Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall. In their re-match for the second place in the group the Swedes had their full lineup and came out on top, but the Finns still put up a good fight, showing that it was not just luck and stand-in's but also skilled play on their part which allowed them to score their earlier upset.

Seventh place decider

While the dates are not yet known, we do know that Netolic.ru, iNfernity Gaming and Rat in the Dark will all be competing as third placing teams in their respective groups. The fourth team to get a shot at qualifying looks to be Imaginary Gaming, as they have the best "map score" of the fourth placing teams.

These four teams will play a single elimination bracket at a future date, with the winner earning their spot to LAN. Rat in the Dark, after their upset against The Alliance and given that they made their way to the LAN Finals last time around may be considered as slight frontrunners, but Netolic.ru and iNfernity have also been showing occasional glimpses of brilliance. Imaginary Gaming are going into this as the underdogs, even after taking a game off of Quantic Gaming in their first round match-up.
